Erkki-Sven Tüür
Born in 1959 on the Estonian island of Hiiuma, he is one of the most remarkable composers of his generation
His music is performed by prestigious soloists and orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and the Zurich Tonhalle
He seeks to inspire the listener's creativity: "Music must contain everything: an irresistible power, a revelatory light, infinite gentleness, and the deepest darkness. Fury, pain, remorse. Everything that makes us human. And the tender caress of redeeming love."
