Delphine Dora
Escale du Nord, Centre culturel d'Anderlecht, antenne Scheut , AnderlechtThe encounter between the prepared piano and the voice invites the discovery of magnificent, contemplative and mysterious inner spaces.
Musician, composer, and improviser Delphine Dora brings together prepared piano and voice in a unique experience with Prepared Piano/Voice . Dora explores the voice in different languages, sometimes inventing a new, ethereal, and atmospheric one that transcends imagination and poetry. What is a prepared piano? Following Henry Cowell, who invented the concept, and John Cage, who developed it, a prepared piano is a piano in which various objects (of all kinds) have been placed to transform or alter its sound. In Delphine Dora's work, Prepared Piano/Voice opens onto an imaginary, sensitive, indescribable, and adventurous world. Indeed, this artist also practices field recording, which involves recording sounds of nature to create soundscapes, a contemplative and mysterious space. This technique is constantly deployed in Prepared Piano/Voice.
