Fifty For The Future

Bozar - Henry Le Boeuf Room , Brussels

An exceptional afternoon for all string quartets, with the legendary Kronos Quartet!

On November 17, 2024, the legendary Kronos Quartet will be at Bozar!

On this occasion, Bozar and Ars Musica are organizing an afternoon dedicated to the string quartet. They will host no fewer than 27 string quartets and 3 ensembles, ranging from beginners and conservatory students to experienced amateurs and seasoned professionals. Together, they will pay tribute to the unique tradition of the string quartet and perform pieces from Kronos Fifty for the Future, distributed throughout Bozar. The Kronos Quartet itself will close the event. The program is expected to include music by Reich and Riley, a work by Jlin, and arrangements of Sun Ra and Nina Simone.

Recently, the Kronos Quartet created Fifty For The Future repertoire , a contemporary repertoire of 50 compositions aimed at keeping the string quartet tradition alive and reinvented.
