Vibration Forest - Musical installation
Les Brigittines - Lobby , BruxellesA musical performance and artistic installation, Vibration Forest is a work by composer Alexandre Lévy, inspired by scientific research on plant communication and bio-acoustic observation of forests.
Are trees sonic forms that communicate with the world? Do trees speak? A musical performance and art installation, Vibration Forest is a work by composer Alexandre Lévy, inspired by scientific research on plant communication and the bioacoustic observation of forests. The protocol for creating this work is as precise as it is important. Initially consisting of a piece for plant percussion and electronics, Vibration Forest then presents this performance within a collection of engraved, sound-producing, and interactive wooden sculptures designed by artist Sophie Lecomte. The audience interacts with these structures using their hands, face, and body to modify the organic and material vibrations of the music. An imaginary and musical forest is thus created, in an environment that is constantly reinvented, by an audience that modulates the sound of the trees to be heard.
