ÉCHOS D'ESSENCES (A SMELL CONCERT) | Workshop with students from P3 and P4
Listening to music in a playful way through the moving body forms an ideal gateway to the world of contemporary music creation. With this project, Alegria vzw and Ars Musica aim to introduce children to contemporary music and familiarize them with the language and the various professions within the arts.
The project consists of classroom workshops in preparation for the cultural outing, attending a dress rehearsal, conversations and exchanges with the artists, and workshops focusing on movement and music.
The musical inspiration for the project comes from the Ars Musica program: *Échos d'essences*, a scent concert by composer Apolline Jesupret and perfumer Romain Pantoustier.
This immersive creation tells the story of a human from the future who has lost his five senses. In five musical and olfactory scenes, music and scent are intertwined. In this way, *Échos d'essences* invites the audience to a poetic encounter between hearing and smelling, and to a new way of perceiving the world.
