Frédéric Verrières
He studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels before entering the Paris Conservatory (CNSM) where he obtained a first prize in composition. Two years later, he pursued studies in composition and computer music at IRCAM
He received the SACEM prize for best contemporary creation in 2000, was a resident at the Villa Medici in Rome in 2001, and received the SACD's "New Talent in Music" prize in 2003. His opera The Second Woman received the prize for "best musical composition by a French composer"
