Régis Campo
Born in Marseille in 1968, he is one of the leading figures in contemporary French music. A prolific composer, he has written over 300 works spanning the symphonic, operatic, vocal, chamber, and film genres
His musical language is often described as playful, colorful and bright, highlighting melody, pulse, humor, rhythmic energy and communication with the audience
Winner of numerous prizes, including the Henri Dutilleux International Competition in 1996, the Gaudeamus Prize and the SACEM Grand Prize for Contemporary Classical Music in 2020, he was elected in 2017 to the Academy of Fine Arts in the Musical Composition section
In 2025, he received the Composer of the Year award at the Victoires de la Musique Classique for the concerto for theremin and orchestra Dancefloor With Pulsing, a work commissioned by Ars Musica and premiered in 2019 as part of the Festival
