Simon Steen-Andersen
A key composer, director, and video artist on the contemporary scene, born in Denmark in 1976 and based in Berlin
His resolutely transdisciplinary work lies at the intersection of instrumental music, performance, video, and sound installation: it incorporates everyday objects, handcrafted constructions, and a strong choreographic dimension that stages the musicians' own gestures
Performed by elite ensembles such as Ensemble Modern and Klangforum Wien, his work has received the most prestigious awards of our time, including the Ernst von Siemens Composition Prize and the Mauricio Kagel Prize
He shares his vision as an artist by teaching musical theatre at the Bern University of the Arts.
